Social Media
The social media campaign is intended to promote the sharing of citizen’s personal annual GSS score on their own social media sites to indicate their personal transformation over the next 10 years in anticipation of 2030. This is intended to spur a social movement that gathers momentum over time, using online capabilities to reach a larger audience. Additionally, a citizen’s score could be provided to their municipality to display a commitment of one’s self and suburban property toward sustainable practices. Using a transformational leadership approach, an educational outreach campaign to suburbanites should help to empower each citizen’s daily activities to provide a measurable societal transformation toward sustainable practices through a set of metrics. Educational outreach may help to prepare suburban communities for resiliency efforts, while the quantifiable metrics could be utilized by citizens to create a tangible demand for government assistance in sustainability efforts to reduce the effects of climate change.
