James D. Snook  to Present “Applying Sustainability Best Practices” at Stevens Institute of Technology’s Hugo Neu Corporation Sustainability Series on March 8, 2022

Stevens Institute of Technology’s Sustainability Management Masters program will welcome James D. Snook on Tuesday, March 8, at 5:00 PM Eastern to present “Applying Sustainability Best Practices” as part of its Hugo Neu Corporation Sustainability Seminar Series.

This academic workshop will guide the audience through the principles of sustainability and resiliency, plus provide insights into how an individual may attempt to apply green and sustainable best management practices (BMPs) to environmental projects. A pedagogical framework for sustainability education is demystified, which guides one towards self-awareness plus an authentic transformational leadership style that encourages sustainability practices. Fundamental sustainability concepts will be discussed, including methods to balance and apply concepts, thereby improving leadership skills in environmental situations.

Jamie Snook’s (he/him) professional experience spans 20 years of private sector environmental consulting throughout the northeast USA. He has 10 years of experience as a LSRP, but is deactivated 2021 through 2022, while he is a full-time PhD candidate of Sustainability Education at Prescott College. During his years of volunteering on a 501c3 non-profit Board of Directors, he has been providing presentations at state and national conferences regarding sustainability practices since 2014. He has earned a BS in Environmental Science from Susquehanna University, MS in Hydrogeology from Clemson University, and a MS of Environmental Studies from Prescott College. To share his academic studies, www.SnookSolutions.com was created as an informational website to help individuals educate themselves on how to address their own climate change concerns. The website assists the viewer in learning their watershed, taking a climate survey, learning climate policy, and adopting sustainability education skills.

The Hugo Neu Corporation Sustainability Seminar Series is moderated by Dibyendu “Dibs” Sarkar, Professor, Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering, Stevens Institute of Technology.
